Mélanie Carmen Huser
Had Mélanie known to which extent yoga would change her life, she probably wouldn’t have dared to start with it. As an emergency care medical doctor she came from a success-oriented, fast-paced world and turned to yoga in an attempt to wind down – and, to her surprise, she instantaneously fell in love with it. The initial fascination for the physical workout soon developed into a deep enchantment for also the mental and spiritual benefits – oh how did she enjoy the formerly unknown awareness and peace which yoga gifted her! Ever since completing her 200h teacher training at Frog Lotus International in September 2012 she has been teaching Vinyasa Flow yoga in her hometown, Zurich (Switzerland) and internationally.
Over the years Mélanie expanded her yoga horizon by also incorporating yin yoga, a subtler form of yoga with long held stretches and meditative mindfulness, into her practice and into her teaching. She completed her 500h training in 2015 and, as a passionate Acro-Yogi and a certified AcroYoga instructor, she happily shares its playful acrobatic elements. Since 2013 Mélanie moreover works as an anatomy instructor for the Yogalife yoga teacher trainings in Switzerland and Belgium, as well as for other schools in Europe and Bali.
Her yoga classes are a combination of strong vinyasa flows with deep introspection - expect to be challenged both physically and mentally, and to leave the class blissed out with a smile on your face.
Nicoleta grew up in the cosmopolite city of Bucharest and since 2002 lives in Zurich. She came in contact with yoga already during her mathematical studies in Bucharest, first from literature and later on also in practice.
Wanting to learn more about yoga she found Sanapurna in 2012 and immediately felt at home in the welcoming presence of Poonam and of the studio. For her, Sanapurna is a peaceful, warm space in the heart of Zurich where one can simply be, recharge and connect to beautiful souls. This is where she did her yoga teacher training course (200h) and remained as a TTC assistant and coordinator.
Nicoleta continuously expands and refines her understanding and skills as an assistant teacher during the yearly TTCs at Sanapurna and also by attending various yoga trainings and workshops. She is certified in Antastha Yoga (100h) by its founder Sanjeev Bhanot and is trained in Yin Yoga (50h) with Joe Barnett. She is also trained as a thai yoga massage practitioner and can be found giving thai yoga massages in the studio.
She is passionate about sharing the practice of yoga as a way to discover oneself and gently assists her students to explore and become aware of their innermost being. Breath awareness, alignment and therapeutic cues, hands-on adjustments and self-reflection are integral parts of her classes.
Nicoleta teaches Hatha Yoga based classes for all levels in English (also German if needed). What inspires Nicoleta: ‘I am inspired by my teachers and students, my own practice, mystical poetry and life itself with its infinite expressions in nature, sounds, colours…‘
